Nebula

In the Nebula series, Baranski turns his gaze upward, into the vast expanse of space. These works are inspired by astronomical photographs of star-forming regions—cosmic clouds of gas and dust where light emerges from darkness. Rather than imitating these images directly, the paintings transform them into luminous fields of colour, where pigments flow and collide like stellar matter.
Deep blues, purples, and ochres build atmospheric layers, suggesting endless space and the slow movement of cosmic forces. The compositions oscillate between turbulence and calm: glowing centres dissolve into translucent edges, while soft gradients evoke both infinite distance and intimate emotion.

These paintings are less about depicting a nebula and more about invoking the feeling of standing beneath one—the sense of wonder, vastness, and quiet that emerges when we contemplate the universe. They ask the viewer to linger, to lose scale, to become immersed in the glowing fabric of the painted sky.
